It is native to the arid and hot regions of Arizona, California and Mexico. Jojoba was used in traditional medicine for its hair regeneration or to alleviate the effects of psoriasis, thanks to its nourishing properties. It was also used as a remedy to heal wounds and protect skin and hair from desert dryness. Jojoba wax is extracted from jojoba seeds.
