The main function of this dietary supplement is to help fight free radicals that oxidize the body's cells. In addition, alpha lipoic acid regenerates glutathione, one of the body's main antioxidants. Alpha lipoic acid helps regenerate other important antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 and vitamins C and E. Likewise, alpha lipoic acid exerts its effect at the muscle level favoring glucose uptake.
