Scholmed Athlete's Foot 10 Mg/G Cream 15 G

Terbinafin is an antifungal drug, which belongs to the alilamine group, which works by preventing the growth of fungi.

This medicine is indicated in the treatment of tinea pedis or athlete's foot in adults, superficial dermal infection caused by fungi and located between the toes.

The main symptoms are: itching, redness (erythema), cracks between the fingers and flaking, and may reach inflammation or pustules.

1. What is Scholmed 10 mg / g cream and what is it used for

Terbinafine is an antifungal drug, which belongs to the group of allylamines, which works by preventing the growth of fungi.

This medicine is indicated for the treatment of tinea pedis or athlete's foot in adults, a superficial dermal infection caused by fungi and located between the toes.

The main symptoms are: itching, redness (erythema), cracks between the fingers and scaling, which can lead to inflammation or pustules.

You must talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 7 days of treatment.

2. What you need to know before you use Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream

Do not use Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream

If you are allergic to terbinafine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6) .

Warnings and cautions

  • This medicine is for use on the skin only and for athlete's foot only. It can be irritating to the eyes, so contact with them should be avoided. In case of accidental contact, they should be thoroughly washed with tap water.
  • If after administration you have a reaction in the treated area, you may need to stop treatment. Consult your doctor if this is the case.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream .

Children and adolescents:

The experience of using terbinafine in children is limited, so its use is not recommended in children under 18 years of age.

Using Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream with other medicines:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, or have recently used, or might take any other medicine.

It is not recommended to use other products at the same time in the areas where the terbinafine cream is applied.

Pregnancy , breastfeeding and fertility :

If you are pregnant or lactating, think you might be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using any medicine. This medicine should not be used during pregnancy unless clearly indicated.

Do not use this medicine if you are breast-feeding, as terbinafine passes into breast milk.

Driving and using machines:

No effect has been described in this regard.

Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream contains cetyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol.

This medicine may cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis) because it contains cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol.

This medicine contains 0.01 g of benzyl alcohol per 1 gram of cream. Benzyl alcohol can cause allergic reactions.

3. How to use Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream

This medicine should be used exclusively on the skin of the affected area of the feet.

Follow exactly the instructions for administration of this medicine contained in this leaflet or those indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose for people over 18 years of age is: one or two applications a day, for 7 days.

  • Before applying the cream, clean and dry the affected areas carefully. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected skin between the toes, and massage gently until completely absorbed.

  • Remember to use your medicine.

  • It is advisable to wear well ventilated shoes, avoid rubber shoes and soles, avoid fiber socks and change socks with each application due to the possibility of reinfection. To avoid contagion, do not share towels, socks or shoes with other people, nor should you walk barefoot in swimming pools, changing rooms and collective bathrooms.

  • If after 7 days of use you do not observe an improvement in your symptoms, consult your doctor.

  • If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

If you use more Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream than you should:

If you have used more cream than you should, consult your doctor or pharmacist. In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, consult the Toxicology Information Service. Telephone 91 562 04 20.

If you forget to use Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream

If you forgot to apply the cream, apply it as soon as you remember, although if there is little left for the next application, wait until then. At no time should you use a double amount of cream to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you stop using Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream

Do not stop treatment with Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream within 7 days, as the infection may come back.

If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

Uncommon side effects (affecting 1 to 10 in 1000 people) are: irritation or burning sensation at the application site.

Very rare side effects (affects less than 1 in 10,000 people) occur on the skin and the tissue below it and are: allergic reactions, itching, hives and blisters.

If you consider that any of the side effects you suffer is serious or if you notice any side effect not mentioned in this leaflet, inform your doctor or pharmacist.

5. How to store Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream

It does not require any special storage conditions.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton after EXP. The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated.

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Medicines must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Deposit the containers and medicines that you do not need at the SIGRE Point of the pharmacy . If in doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of unnecessary containers and medicines. This way you will help to protect the environment.

6. Package contents and additional information

Composition of Scholmed 10 mg / g Cream :

  • The active substance is terbinafine hydrochloride. Each gram of cream contains 10 mg of terbinafine hydrochloride.
  • The other ingredients (excipients) are benzyl alcohol, sorbitan stearate, cetyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, isopropyl myristate, sodium hydroxide and purified water.

Appearance of the product and contents of the container:

Bright, uniform and white cream. It is presented in a container containing 15 grams of cream.
